About the Madness

The Menlo Madness Summer camp was founded in 2008 and will celebrate its seventh summer this year!  It was established to fill a community need to provide childcare to parents during the summer and offer adventure and excitement to their children!  The program started by serving children ages 7-12 and has since expanded to include Mini Madness (ages 4.5-6), Extended Care Madness, our CIT program for youth ages 12-15 and now the brand new Munchkin Madness Camp (ages 3-4.5).  Campers spend their summers taking field trips, cooking, creating arts & crafts, playing sports, visiting the gymnastics center, swimming, and establishing new friendships!  You may ask… “What makes your camp different from the rest?”  Well let’s see...
  • We pride ourselves on having one of the smallest camper to counselor ratios in the area.  Some larger programs have a ratio of 10:1, or even 20:1.  Our camper to counselor ratio is sometimes as low as 5:1!  This gives campers (and parents) an opportunity to really get to know the staff and for the staff to be attentive to the needs of each and every camper. 
  • Exciting weekly themes!  Since the moment our camp began, we have generated exhilarating weekly themes to keep things exciting and families enthused all summer long.  Each summer we throw new themes into the mix, however we always welcome back the favorites.   Yes, we have the ever popular water week, and my personal favorite, Holi-daily, however I would challenge that you’ve been to a camp with a Cereal theme!  Want to find out more about what that entails?  Join us for it this summer!  Our staff caters activities to the theme of the week so it’s never dull and always innovative.
  • Camper Certificates!  We cap off each week of camp with an awards ceremony to which we invite parents.  Certificates with photos and counselor signatures are given to campers to commemorate their week and each camper is bestowed with an award. 
  • The Madness Talent Show!  Each summer, camp concludes with our annual Talent Show.  We set up the big stage, invite friends & family, and cheer on our favorite campers as they share their greatest talents.  Whether it’s signing, martial arts, telling jokes, playing piano, dancing, gymnastics, an art gallery, or even roller skating…. our campers always deliver and put on a great show to end the summer! 
  • We open registration on January 1st every year!  You can register early or place a $25 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot.  We also offer early bird discounts and discounts for registering for multiple weeks!
